Fire Damages Buffalo Grove Apartment; No Injuries Reported

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A Saturday night apartment fire in Buffalo Grove was quickly extinguished and caused no injuries, according to the Buffalo Grove Fire Department.

Firefighters were called at about 9:50 p.m. Saturday to 50 Old Oak Drive for a reported structure fire.

When Engine 26 arrived, crews found smoke coming from a first-floor apartment.

Firefighters began an interior attack, stretching a hose line into the apartment while simultaneously searching for occupants.

The fire was quickly extinguished, according to the department.

Fire Confined To Bedroom

Fire officials said the occupants of the apartment were not home at the time of the fire.

The flames were confined to a bedroom, while the rest of the apartment sustained smoke and water damage.

The building had a functioning fire alarm system.

After the fire was extinguished and conditions were deemed safe, the remaining residents were allowed to return to their apartments.

No residents or firefighters were injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
