Burr Ridge Ice Cream Shop Launches Tuesday
College friends from the Chicago suburbs are opening their first Kilwins shop.
BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge will get a new confectionery and ice cream shop Tuesday when Kilwins opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday at 745 Village Center Drive in Burr Ridge.
The new shop is owned by Mayank Jethva and Nikit Tailor, who said they became friends while attending Purdue. They are from the Chicago suburbs.
Before becoming franchisees, Jethva worked as a software engineer and Tailor served as a product manager, according to a news release. They will now handle day-to-day operations at the Burr Ridge store.

"My first experience with Kilwins was during college summers, meeting up with friends at the St. Charles location on the Fox River," Jethva said in the news release.
"For me, it started with nostalgia," Tailor said. "Some of my best college memories are meeting up with friends at the Kilwins in St. Charles during the summer," said Nikit. "That connection to the brand never really faded. Beyond that, I've always had a big sweet tooth, and Kilwins isn't just candy and ice cream. It's a genuinely high-end product made the right way."
