Man, 67, Breaks Into Burr Ridge Million-Dollar Home: Police

BURR RIDGE, IL – A man accused of burglarizing a Burr Ridge house remains behind bars more than a year later.

Jeffrey Levin, 67, faces a felony residential burglary charge. He has been charged with similar crimes in other towns.

The local burglary took place May 31, 2025, in the 8700 block of Madison Street, police said. It's a neighborhood of million-dollar homes.

A couple of weeks later, Patch filed its first public records request. But the village declined to release documents, saying the burglary remained under investigation.

Burr Ridge, which recently disclosed the report, heavily redacted much of it, including Levin's statements in a police interview.

About 8:30 p.m., a mask-wearing Levin was seen on a video slamming his shoulder three times against the Madison Street home's door, trying to force it open, according to the report.

Levin stepped back to shake off a possible shoulder injury or look for something to help him break into the house, police said.

Moments later, he slammed his shoulder two more times against the bolted door before entering, police said.

The owners, who weren't in the house at the time, later reported that jewelry had been stolen from closet doors in the master bedroom.

In August 2025, Burr Ridge police learned that Glencoe police had arrested Levin in connection with a residential burglary in the North Shore town.

Shortly before Christmas last year, Burr Ridge detectives picked up Levin at the state prison in East Moline. He ended up in the DuPage County Jail.
