MINOOKA, IL — On Labor Day night, less than an hour before midnight, the Minooka Fire Department sprang into action responding to a major house fire in a subdivision near Ridge Road at 1325 Marigold Lane.
According to the Minooka press release, Battalion 13 responded at 11:10 p.m. and saw a working fire and summoned mutual aid. Crews reported a walk out basement with fire that extended into the entire basement, first floor, second floor and attic spaces. The firefighters began an interior attack in hopes of dousing the raging fire with their hoses.
All the occupants of the house made it out safely, but several dogs and cats were removed from the house by the fire department, reuniting them with their owners. It took about 40 minutes for all the firefighters to get the blaze under control.
