Obituary: Beverly A. Miklic (nee Zbacnik)

Above all else, she was a devoted loving mother whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered.

Beverly A. Miklic (nee Zbacnik)

Beverly A. Miklic, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Monday, June 29, 2026. She was born in Joliet, on June 30, 1940, to the late Joseph and Ann (nee Tadej) Zbacnik. She attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from St. Francis Academy Class of 1958.

Beverly worked at Wieboldt’s Department Store in the jewelry department and Grant’s downtown. She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved sports, especially cheering on her favorite Chicago teams. She never missed an episode of General Hospital and treasured the companionship of her Golden Retrievers, Butkus and Bucky. Beverly enjoyed playing cards with friends, making potica, and baking treats for those she loved. She collected snowmen and looked forward to the holiday season each year, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. Beverly enjoyed traveling, especially to Wisconsin Dells. Above all else, she was a devoted loving mother whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered.

Beverly is survived by her children, John (Karen) Miklic, and Brian Miklic; nieces, Carol (Scott) Smith, and Michelle Zbacnik, and nephew, Tim (Kate) Zbacnik.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and brother, Kenneth Zbacnik.

Funeral services for Beverly A. Miklic will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, IL, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation will take place at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
