Semitrailer Crash In Rural Wilmington Sends 5 People To Hospitals, Route 113 Closed Down
Tuesday's crash happened around 3:40 a.m. in the area of Wilmington and Braidwood. The Illinois State Police responded to the scene.

WILMINGTON, IL — The Illinois State Police informed Joliet Patch that Tuesday's early morning crash along two-lane state highway Route 113 happened around 3:40 a.m. and five people have been hospitalized.
According to the agency, the wreck involving a semi-trailer happened along Route 113 at West River Road near Wilmington. ISP Troop 3 said it responded to Route 113 for the report of a three-vehicle crash involving a truck-tractor semi-trailer.
Five occupants were transported to local hospitals with injuries. All lanes were shut down.

Meanwhile, Braidwood Emergency Services and Disaster Agency announced that all roadways hadbeen reopened to traffic.
Illinois State Police will remain on scene with environmental cleanup crews due to a large diesel fuel spill on adjacent properties.

Braidwood ESDA noted that as of 4 a.m., Route 113 was closed between Smiley Road and Essex Road and that West River Road between Coal City Road and Smiley Road was also closed down.
