CTA Bus Driver Kidnapped By Armed Passenger: Police
The driver, a 57-year-old woman, was able to escape out a window, police said.
CHICAGO — A CTA bus driver was kidnapped by an armed passenger overnight on Chicago’s northwest side, according to police.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of North Pulaski Road, police said. A male passenger on the bus produced a sharp object and demanded that the bus not stop, according to police.
The driver, a 57-year-old woman, initially complied but was quickly able to escape out a window, police said. The armed person fled but was taken into custody not long after the incident, according to police, who said charges are pending.
