Rhythms of the Past: An African American Musical Journey, Is Coming to Olympia Fields

Music has always been one of the most powerful ways to tell the story of a people. On Saturday, March 28, 2026 between 2pm and 4pm, Olympia Fields United Methodist Church will host a special event celebrating the rich legacy found in Black American music throughout history.

The program will guide attendees through the powerful sounds that impacted generations and continue to influence music today. "Rhythms of the Past" is more than a concert. It is a celebration. Through music and storytelling, guests will be invited to reflect on how Black American music has carried messages of freedom, perseverance and community across generations. This event, which is open to the public, will honor the voices that helped shape American culture.
