This map shows locations across McHenry County where community members can access free naloxone and other harm reduction supplies. Naloxone is a nasal spray specifically used for the emergency treatment of opioid overdoses, according to a news release from the health department.
The interactive map is designed to help residents quickly locate nearby resources. This resource aims to support efforts in preventing overdose deaths within the community. Users can interact with the map by hovering over or tapping on specific location dots, health officials said.

Each dot provides detailed information for the respective location. This includes the agency name, its address, and hours of operation. Contact information and available resources are also listed, according to a news release. These resources include items such as drug testing strips, housing assistance, and recovery programs. The map also provides website links when they are available for specific agencies.
Agencies situated in McHenry County that provide naloxone at no cost can request inclusion on the map. They can do this by calling 815-334-4295. The MCDH also confirmed that the map can be shared or embedded on other websites using its āShareā icon. Any future updates made by the MCDH will automatically appear wherever the map is shared or embedded.
