'Son Dyno Date Night' Brings Jurassic Fun To Crystal Lake

Sons and their dates can enjoy fossil digs, dino dances, interactive games and a live reptile show during this one-night event on April 17.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a one-night, dinosaur-themed event for sons and their dates from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17, at Grand Oaks, 1401 W. Route 176.

The event, called “Son Dyno Date Night,” will feature activities including fossil digs, dino dances and interactive games designed to give participants a “Jurassic Park” experience. Organizers have also added a live reptile show featuring snakes, a giant lizard and a tortoise, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Park District.

Registration is $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents, with each additional son costing $15. Each attendee must be registered in advance to secure a spot.

The Parks & Recreation Department encourages families to come dressed in explorer gear and enjoy an evening of prehistoric fun and hands-on learning, according to the park district.
