Learn About Nature Journaling
Nature journaling, diaries, field notebooks – there are many ways to capture reflections, data, and observations of natural occurrences. Throughout history, personal accounts of weather, animals, plants, and unique phenomenon have been key to understanding important events as well as long-term trends.
From passenger pigeons to Pompei, explore examples of some of the most poignant nature journals in history and how they help us understand the world. Then, learn how to start your own nature journal and how to make it a habit in your life.
Program Presented by Karly Tumminello
Karly Tumminello has a Master’s degree in Anthropology and a Certificate in Museum Studies from Northern Illinois University. She serves as the Director/Curator of the Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum at Benedictine University. She has over 25 years of experience in environmental education and facilitating nature exploration. She teaches Nature Writing at Benedictine University, leads monthly gatherings of the EEAI Nature Journaling Club, and is a Certified Master Naturalist. She also is chair of DGC Sprouts!
