No Target For Willowbrook Denny's Opening, With 'Coming Soon' Pledge

WILLOWBROOK, IL – Denny's is giving no target date for reopening its restaurant in Willowbrook.

The front door of the restaurant at 7737 Kingery Highway has a sign that says, "Temporarily closed for maintenance." A sign outside said the eatery is "coming soon."

The front door includes a half dozen "we missed you" notices from FedEd and UPS. A pickup truck was outside the restaurant early Tuesday afternoon.

The restaurant closed more than two months ago. On May 11, the Denny's chain said the restaurant was expected to open the following week.

By mid-June, the corporation said the work had taken longer than expected and that the restaurant would open as soon as possible.

The chain did not return a message for comment Wednesday morning.

Denny's has about 1,400 restaurants.

Nearby Denny's locations are in Oakbrook Terrace, Bolingbrook, Hickory Hills, Oak Lawn and Oak Park.
