Over $1M In Community Impact Grants Awarded To Local Organizations By DuPage Foundation

The grants will support workforce development, animal welfare, youth education and environmental initiatives.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — More than 70 local organizations were awarded Community Impact grants during DuPage Foundation's most recent grant cycle. In total, over $1.3 million was granted to support initiatives in mental wellness, food security, recreation, health care, housing and emergency assistance.

Emergency Assistance and Housing

Twenty-five organizations were granted a total of $365,000 to aid their efforts in providing assistance with housing and emergences. These are:

Mental Health

DuPage Foundation awarded 25 organizations a total of $500,276 in grant funds for mental health support services. The grant recipients are:

Recreation Access

Three organizations received a total of $25,000 in grants to support access to recreation. These are:

  • Access Sports
  • Special Kids Day
  • Western DuPage Special Recreation Association

DuPage Foundation is accepting applications for its Fall Community Impact Grants through Sept. 4.

“It’s remarkable to see consistent growth in impact each year,” DuPage Foundation Vice President for Programs Barb Szczepaniak said in a statement.

Szczepaniak added, “In response to rising needs throughout DuPage County, we increased our Health & Human Services grantmaking by 40% compared to last spring. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening the network of care that supports our community.”
