Pickleball Court Construction Underway At McCullom Park In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Work is underway to convert the flexible-use center courts at McCullom Park into eight pickleball courts. Shade structures are also being installed next to the courts.

The construction, which started Aug. 3, will temporarily close these center courts and the park's basketball courts.

It's expected the courts will be converted by the end of September.

McCullom Park recently hosted a grand opening celebration to mark the end of most of the improvements that have been underway at the park.

The revamped park, which was bolstered by a $600,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant, features a new playground, new outdoor fitness equipment, horseshoe courts and other improvements.
