DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A retail theft was reported, a bike was stolen and a car was stolen, according to the most recent blotter from the Downers Grove Police Department.

Retail Theft at Tobbaco/Vape Store

Police were called to Fresh Tobacco & Vape at 611 Ogden Ave. around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 for a report of a retail theft. An employee told police they saw a customer take two items from the store. When approached, the customer denied stealing any items before running from the store, getting into a silver, American-made pickup and fleeing the scene.

According to the police report, video footage shows the customer stealing two packs of 100 mg STAX. The employee told police the customer had also stolen from the store in early February.

Bike Stolen from Home on Northcott Avenue

A resident told police a man pulled up in a black SUV around 5:50 p.m. on March 2 and stole a bike from their home in the 4700 block of Northcott Avenue. The bike was described as a blue single-speed children's bike with a brown seat.

Car Stolen from Home on Hathaway Lane

A car was stolen from a home in the 6300 block of Hathaway Lane and later recovered in Chicago, where it had been involved in a crash.
