York High Getting 2 Interim Co-Principals
The district may hire retired administrators for the positions.

ELMHURST, IL – York High School is set to get two interim co-principals after the principal leaves for another school district during the summer.
The school board is set to vote on the two leaders at a special meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Elmhurst School District 205's central office.
Other districts release the names of hirees before the school board votes. That happened with another district's hiring of York's principal, Jessica Hurt.

But District 205 has historically kept that information a secret until the vote. Within minutes after a decision, the district issues an already-prepared news release to the public.
Hurt, who has been at the helm for the last three years, is becoming the director of high school curriculum at Aurora-based Indian Prairie School District 204.

District 205 was given a relatively short window to fill the position, so the superintendent had already revealed that the district would hire an interim principal.
It became known late Monday afternoon, with the release of the meeting agenda, that the district planned to hire two interim leaders.
The hiring of co-principals is an indication that they are retired school administrators. That's because a retired educator can only work so many days at a public school while still receiving a pension.
