63-Year-Old Man Accused Of Selling Crack Cocaine In Evanston

EVANSTON, IL — A 63-year-old Evanston man is facing multiple felony offenses for allegedly selling crack cocaine in the city, according to the Evanston Police Department.

Police identified the suspect as Andre L. Riley, 63. Police said investigators in August received information alleging Riley was selling crack cocaine in the area of the 900 block of Maple Avenue.

According to investigators, additional evidence was collected during the case, including photographs and video depicting suspected narcotics-related activity. Based on the evidence, police obtained search warrants for Riley's residence and vehicle. Police later took Riley into custody.

Police said they recovered and seized two firearms, ammunition, drugs, U.S. currency and a vehicle. According to police, Riley is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Following review with the assistant state’s attorney’s office, Riley was charged with five class 1 felony counts of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, two class 2 felony counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and one class 1 felony count of unlawful possession of 15 or more grams of cocaine.
