Cook County Sheriff Brings Senior Citizen Law Enforcement Academy To Evergreen Park

The academy shows older residents how to avoid becoming crime victims and meets Fridays from May 1-June 12 at the EP Community Center.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL—Older residents can learn how to protect themselves from crimes that prey upon senior citizens, Fridays, May 1 through June 12, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Department and the Office of Citizen Services will equip older residents with tips and strategies to avoid becoming a crime victim of ruse burglaries, phone, text, email and QR code scams, among others.

Participants in the academy will also learn the inner workings of law enforcement.

The Senior Citizens Law Enforcement Academy will be held at the Evergreen Park Community Center, 3450 W. 97th St. Reserve a spot by calling the Cook County Sheriff’s Office at 708-865-7341 to register.
