Berwyn, Illinois — Illinois is home to students who are showing up, standing out and making a real impact in their schools and communities. To celebrate them, Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to spotlight local students excelling in academics, athletics, the arts and beyond.

Tell us about your star student's accomplishments and why they deserve to be recognized on Patch!

Kalahn has accomplished so much since his freshman year at Fenwick. From the onset, he has maintained a 4.3 GPA while participating in football, track, and tennis.

As a senior, he has mentored more than 20 freshmen. He is also a member of the National Honor Society. Kalahn works a part-time job and helps his mom care for his 13-year-old sister and 5-year-old brother.

Throughout his time at Fenwick, Kalahn has participated in various workshops and was accepted to more than 12 colleges, including some of the most prestigious universities in the country. He was offered full scholarships at many of them.

Kalahn has chosen to attend Howard University and plans to major in accounting.

Kalahn is a respectful, hardworking, articulate, quick-witted, studious, and positive young man. He sees the glass as half full in all situations. He is not your typical teenager.

At just 12 years old, Kalahn built a computer from scratch and is simply brilliant. Kalahn is going to make a difference in this world. He already has!
