Board of Education Receives School Board Governance Recognition

FRANKFORT, IL — On April 7, representatives from the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) officially presented the Frankfort School District 157‑C Board of Education with the School Board Governance Recognition designation during the IASB Three Rivers Division Meeting. Frankfort School District 157‑C is one of 42 Illinois public school district governing boards recognized for their commitment to learning and implementing effective governance practices.

The Illinois Association of School Boards, which represents all 849 school districts in the state, announced the recipients of the School Board Governance Recognition in October 2025. This two‑year designation emphasizes full board participation and continuous development. Frankfort School District 157‑C will retain this designation through Summer 2027.

The Frankfort School District 157‑C Board of Education is comprised of seven members, each elected to a four‑year term. The Board serves as the local governing body of the District, responsible for setting policies, adopting budgets, approving employment decisions, and establishing district goals in alignment with state requirements. Board members represent community interests while overseeing curriculum and district operations.
