Grand Prairie Elementary School Appoints Two Assistant Principals

The Frankfort School District 157‑C Board of Education has approved the appointments of two assistant principals at Grand Prairie Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. Jacquie Major and Becki Kramer, both current district teachers and residents of Frankfort, will return to Grand Prairie Elementary in their new leadership roles next academic year.

Jacquie Major, currently a second‑grade teacher at Grand Prairie Elementary, has been an educator for 20 years, including 17 years in Frankfort School District 157‑C. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana‑Champaign and her master’s degree from Concordia University Chicago.

Major began her teaching career in Sunnybrook School District 171 before joining Grand Prairie Elementary as a second‑grade teacher. During her years in Frankfort School District 157‑C, she has worked with students in kindergarten through fifth grade, serving as both a second‑grade classroom teacher and a district English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as assistant principal in the same school community where I’ve spent the past 17 years growing as an educator. This building holds a special place in my heart, and I’m thankful for the strong connections I’ve built with our students, families, and staff,” said Major. “I’m excited to continue this journey in a new role, supporting our youngest learners and working together to create a positive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.”

Becki Kramer will also start her new role as an assistant principal at Grand Prairie Elementary next year. Kramer brings more than a decade of experience in Frankfort School District 157‑C. She began her career at Grand Prairie as a first‑grade teacher, later served as an instructional coach for six years, and is currently back in the classroom as a first‑grade teacher. Kramer earned her undergraduate degree from Aurora University and her graduate degree from Governors State University.

“I am excited to continue my journey here at Grand Prairie. I began my teaching career here and have spent the past 13 years growing alongside the district. I believe deeply in this community and Grand Prairie, and I am eager to continue serving our students, staff, and families in my new role,” Kramer said.

Grand Prairie Elementary School Principal Kim Szudy expressed confidence in the new appointments.

“I have had the privilege of working alongside both candidates for many years and know them not only as exceptional educators, but as dedicated, student-centered leaders. I am truly proud to have them joining our leadership team and couldn’t be more confident in the impact they will have on the Grand Prairie community,” Szudy said.

The Board of Education approved the appointments at its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 21.
