Geneva Fire Department Earns Continued International Accredited Status

GENEVA, IL — The Geneva Fire Department has successfully achieved reaccreditation through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), reaffirming its commitment to excellence in fire and emergency services and continuous improvement in service delivery.

This achievement marks the sixth consecutive accreditation cycle for the Geneva Fire Department. CFAI accreditation is awarded on a five-year cycle, requiring agencies to continually evaluate and demonstrate compliance with rigorous performance, management, and service delivery standards.

The Geneva Fire Department remains among a select group of fire and emergency service agencies worldwide that have earned and maintained Internationally Accredited Agency status through the CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).

The accreditation process includes a comprehensive self-assessment of the department's operations, programs, performance, and community service delivery. The process also includes an independent review by experienced fire service professionals who verify compliance with internationally recognized standards and best practices.

Maintaining accredited status demonstrates the department's dedication to professional excellence, accountability, strategic planning, and the delivery of high-quality emergency services to the Geneva community. The reaccreditation process also helps identify opportunities for continued organizational growth and enhanced service delivery.
