Villa Verone in downtown Geneva is celebrating its 30th anniversary Wednesday evening.
GENEVA, IL — Villa Verone in downtown Geneva is celebrating its 30th anniversary Wednesday evening with a complimentary buffet dinner.
The buffet will be open to the community from 6-9 p.m. at 416 Hamilton St. — it's owner Pietro Verone and his team's way of saying, "thank you," city officials said.
Although reservations are usually recommended to dine at the Italian restaurant, none will be needed for the buffet.

"From the moment you walk up the driveway, there is an instant feeling of comfort," city officials said of Villa Verone. "In the warmer months, you will often find friends and families gathered on the inviting patio, sharing great conversation and plenty of laughter. For three decades, this locally owned and operated gem has delivered exceptional service and authentic Southern Italian cuisine—whether enjoyed in the dining room or at home."
For anyone worried Verone would be retiring, the owner set the rumors straight in January:

"Retirement? Not a chance," he wrote on Facebook. "I've got tables to greet, stories to hear, plates to send out, and memories to be made every single night. It's loud, it’s exhausting, it’s beautiful and I wouldn’t trade this life at Villa Verone Ristorante Italiano for anything."
Villa Verone is typically open from 3:30-8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
