Gators In Sunset Pool? Popular Race Returns June 12

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Colorful alligators will bob, swim and maybe even spin around and go backwards during the 2026 Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation Gator Race. The race will be held June 12 at Sunset Pool, with proceeds benefiting the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation.

Residents and local organizations can adopt one of the rubber gators for a chance to win the race and receive prizes that include a 2027 membership to Sunset Pool.

Here are the rates for gators:

• One gator: $10
• Chomp Pack of four gators: $25
• Swamp Full of 20 gators: $100

Gator spectators are invited to cheer on their favorites at the race, which begins at 6 p.m.

This year, the race will be followed by a new event called Gator Mania. This all-ages party includes swimming, games and music.
