Grant Helps The Outreach House Expand Its First Things Diaper Bank
The diaper bank is the first in DuPage County and one of just 10 throughout Illinois, according to The Outreach House.

LOMBARD, IL — The Outreach House recently received a $133,000 grant from the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership to expand its First Things Diaper Bank.
The diaper bank is the first in DuPage County and one of 10 throughout the state, according to The Outreach House.
The Lombard-based nonprofit will add a 3,200 square foot extension for storage, intake and distribution of diapers. The Outreach House currently distributes more than 200,000 diapers each year to its clients. With the expansion, they plan to help nearby food pantries and programs provide more diapers.

“This grant is truly transformative for our organization and, more importantly, for the families and children we serve. We are profoundly grateful for this investment, which will allow us to expand our space and prepare to become the first diaper bank in DuPage County," said The Outreach House Executive Director, Catherine Lynott.
Lynott added, "No parent should ever have to choose between putting dinner on the table and having clean diapers for their baby. This support brings us one step closer to ensuring that every family has access to this basic necessity, so parents can focus on what matters most, including providing healthy and nutritious food to allow children to reach their full potential. We believe every family deserves the dignity of meeting their children’s most basic needs, and we’re honored to have partners who support our mission.”
