Lilac Time 2026 Brings A Ball, Heritage Tours, Plant Sales To Lilacia Park In Lombard
The two-week celebration of all things lilac includes a Lilac Ball, tours of Lilacia Park, a lilac sale.

LOMBARD, IL — A few years ago, while running errands in Lombard in mid-spring, I stumbled upon Lilacia Park and was dazzled by the thousands of lilacs and tulips nestled in the park. Readers need not wait to stumble upon Lilacia Park, which has two weeks of events plans as it celebrates Lilac Time 2026.
Little Lady Lilac Ball
May 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Lombard Community Building
Geared toward dads and their daughters who are between the ages of three and 11, this event includes dancing, games, desserts and more.

Lilac Queen Coronation
May 2 at 1 p.m.
Lilacia Park
Lombard will crown its 2026 Lilac Queen, an honor that started nearly a century ago.
Live Music from Generation
May 2 at 3 p.m.

Kaleidoscope Eyes will perform hits from The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, David Bowie and more.
Lilac Time Art & Craft Fair
May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Downtown Lombard
Vendors will sell crafts, art pieces, food and more along St. Charles Road. The celebration also includes live entertainment and a special kids' activity area.
Lilacia Park Storytime
May 4, May 5, May 11 and May 12 at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Helen Plum Library
Attendees are invited to bring blankets and chairs to the park near the picnic shelter for storytime. The family-friendly event includes interactive songs and stories.
Lilac Heritage Tour
May 1-2, May 5-10, May 12-16 at 11 a.m.
Led by a Lombard Historical Society expert, these guided tours highlight Lilacia Park's blooms and share information about the park's history. Tickets are $9 per person and tours start at the Carriage House on Maple Street.
Perennial Plant Sale
May 7 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.; May 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lilacia Park Greenhouse
Visitors can buy flowers for their homes during the Perennial Plant Sale, which is held near the Lilacia Park Greenhouse.
Lombard Garden Club Lilac Sale
May 7 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Hundreds of lilac plants will be available for purchase, allowing visitors to take home a bit of Lilac Time. The sale features lilacs from 15 cultivars while supplies last.
Lilac Ball
May 8 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Carlisle Lombard
Reservations are required for this annual ball, which features dinner, dancing and an open bar. To register, call 630-627-5040.
Victorian Cottage Tours
May 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Lombard Historical Society
Guests can visit Lombard Historical Society's Victorian Cottage to see what the village was like in its early days.
Kids' Day in Lilacia Park
May 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Lilacia Park
Live music from Nanny Nikki will fill the air during this kid-friendly event. The show features interactive songs, contests and dance numbers. Crafts and games start at 2 p.m. and Nanny Nikki begins playing at 3 p.m.
Yacht Rockettes Mother's Day Concert
May 10 from 2p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Lilacia Park
The Yacht Rockettes will play yacht rock hits and 70s and 80s music during this concert in honor of Mother's Day. Rainbow Cone will be on hand selling ice cream.
Mutt Strut 5K and Mile and Pancake Breakfast
May 16 at 8 a.m.
This year marks the 20th Annual Mutt Strut 5K and Mile. Participants can run or walk solo or bring along their dogs to take part in the race. A pancake breakfast will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Wine Tasting
May 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Lilacia Park
An assortment off wines will be available to sample during this 21-and-over tasting. In the event of inclement weather, the wine tasting will be held in Lombard Community Building.
Lilac Parade
May 17 at 1:30 p.m.
Downtown Lombard
The annual Lilac Parade kicks off at Main Street and marches through downtown Lombard to Wilson Avenue. Participants and use the theme Happy 250th Birthday, America, for inspiration.
