Alternative Hair Couture 'Transforming Lives' In Downtown Glenview: Chamber

GLENVIEW, IL—Another new business has popped up in the downtown area. Alternative Hair Couture, located at 1033 Waukegan Road, caters to men, women, and children who have been impacted by genetic or traumatic hair loss.

"This salon is dedicated to transforming lives through personalized, high-quality hair loss solutions," Lauren Svendsen, membership and events manager for the Glenview Chamber of Commerce, tells Patch. "If you're looking for an experienced hairstylist with knowledge in the hair loss field, then Alternative Hair Couture is the place for you."

The chamber recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the salon. Alternative Hair Couture is owned by Maria Garcia, who has been serving the North Shore for more than 24 years.

According to Alternative Hair Couture's website, the salon offers hair analysis, invisible bead extensions (hand-tied), non-surgical hair replacement, holistic hair loss solutions, toppers wigs, and custom-designed virgin hair options.

The company's mission "is to provide elite and eco-friendly beauty services that prioritize the health of our guests and the environment."

Alternative Hair Couture is open 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and is closed on Sunday and Monday.
