Citizens For Glenview Seeks Village Board Candidates For 2027 Election

GLENVIEW, IL — A newly forming nonpartisan residents group is seeking candidates interested in running for the Glenview Village Board in the April 2027 election.

Citizens for Glenview is being formed to evaluate and support candidates for three Village Board trustee seats that will be on the April 6, 2027, ballot. Each position carries a four-year term.

The group tells Patch that Glenview residents interested in seeking nomination on the Citizens for Glenview slate may submit a resume along with any comments they would like considered. The opportunity is open to both current officeholders and other eligible residents.

Applications should be submitted to Kay Laurie at Kaylaurie63@gmail.com by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.

Current Glenview Village Board trustees Jim Bland, Mary Cooper and Kate Jones will see their four-year terms conclude in April 2027. The three were elected in the April 2023 consolidated election. It is unknown at this time if they intend to run for reelection.

The official state window opens for candidates to formally file their nomination papers and signature petitions with the Village Clerk to secure a spot on the ballot in November.

All participating residents will be contacted to arrange an interview, according to the group.

To be eligible, applicants must be registered voters who will have lived within the corporate limits of the Village of Glenview for at least one year as of Election Day, April 6, 2027.

Citizens for Glenview said the purpose of the process is to select and support qualified candidates after considering all applicants.
