Glenview 5K To Help Families Facing Infertility Build Their Families

GLENVIEW, IL — The Chicago Coalition for Family Building will bring its annual 5K Fun Run & Family Walk back to Glenview next month, raising money to help individuals and couples overcome the financial barriers associated with infertility and other paths to parenthood.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20, at Blue Star Memorial Woods, 701 E. Lake Ave. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., with an opening ceremony scheduled for 8:15 a.m.

The volunteer-led nonprofit provides grants for IVF, surrogacy, adoption and other family-building resources.

Building On Record 2025 Fundraiser

The coalition said its 2025 event drew more than 465 participants and raised over $117,000, making it the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Organizers said the money raised last year helped fund family-building efforts that resulted in 11 new children joining Chicago-area families.

The coalition hopes to increase both participation and fundraising in 2026.

Family Activities, Fertility Experts

The morning will include both a 5K Fun Run and Family Walk, along with music, face painting, arts and crafts and local food trucks.

Coalition friends, past grant recipients, board members, fertility practices, sponsors and community members of all ages are invited to participate.

Dr. Eve C. Feinberg, medical director at Northwestern Fertility & Reproductive Medicine, is expected to attend, along with other coalition leaders and Chicago-area infertility experts.

The event is intended not only to raise money but also to connect families with information and support related to infertility and family building.
