Glenview Students Earn Honors At Alabama, Hofstra, Colgate

Hofstra University

Sameen Ali, of Glenview, excelled during the spring 2026 semester at Hofstra University, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean's List.

Ali is majoring in history.

The University of Alabama

Some 7,000 degrees were awarded during The University of Alabama's spring 2026 commencement at Coleman Coliseum in May.

Local graduates include:

• Brandon Ballarini, of Glenview, received a Bachelor of Science.
• Alexandra Powell, of Glenview, received a Bachelor of Arts in communication and information sciences.
• Kostantinos Zafiriadis, of Glenview, received a Bachelor of Arts in communication and information sciences.

A total of 14,306 students enrolled during spring semester 2026 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 or above, or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0.

Local students include:

• Bridget Ballarini, of Glenview, was named to the Dean's List.
• Benjamin Mann, of Glenview, was named to the Dean's List.
• Alexandra Powell, of Glenview, was named to the Dean's List.
• Monica Rundorff, of Glenview, was named to the Dean's List.

Hamilton College

Meredith Jenny, of Glenview, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College on May 24 during a commencement ceremony concluding the college's 2025-26 academic year.

Jenny majored in chemistry at Hamilton.

Colgate University

Members of the Class of 2026 were honored May 17 at Andy Kerr Stadium for Colgate University's 205th commencement.

Local graduates include:

• Alyssa Ilyukhina, of Glenview, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychological science.
• Christopher Johnson, of Glenview, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
