Missing 88-Year-Old North Shore Man Found Dead: Police
Police had conducted daily searches for Albert Lieberman after he was reported missing in April.
GLENVIEW, IL — An 88-year-old Glenview man who had been missing since late April was found dead in Des Plaines, and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed his identity, police said.
Albert Lieberman was reported missing from his home on April 24. Police said he had walked away from his home in the 1500 block of Greenwood Road at around 9:46 p.m. the previous night. The last reported sighting of Lieberman, who had a cognitive impairment, about three hours later in the area of Golf Mill Mall in Niles. Video surveillance later confirmed the sighting, according to Glenview police.
Soon thereafter, a Silver Alert was broadcast for Lieberman through the Illinois State Police.

During the subsequent investigation, Glenview police used a search team involving canine dogs and extensive daily searches to try to locate Lieberman.

On May 4, the Cook County Sheriff's Office found a dead man matching Lieberman's description in the 9400 block of Harrison Road in Des Plaines. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his identity last Friday.
"The Glenview Police Department extends its sincere condolences to Albert Liberman's family
and friends during this difficult time," police said in a Monday news release, adding that the investigation remains ongoing.
