LAKE COUNTY, IL — A fight involving about a half-dozen inmates broke out at the Lake County Jail in Waukegan, prompting an emergency response from correctional staff Tuesday morning, authorities said.
During the altercation, four inmates were injured badly enough to require hospitalization, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Authorities are reviewing security footage and interviewing those involved, according to the media report.
Jail officials have not released details on what sparked the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
