2 Killed, I Injured In Route 41 Collision: Police

The crash closed down traffic on Route 41 for four hours, authorities said.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision on Route 41, authorities said.

NBC Chicago is reporting the crash happened at about 3:05 p.m. at Park Avenue and Route 41 when a vehicle headed north on Route 41 collided with a vehicle turning left from Park Avenue onto southbound 41, officials said.

Three people were taken to the hospital following the collision. Two were later pronounced dead, according to ABC 7 Chicago. The condition of the third person was not immediately available.

City officials closed down Route 41 at Park Avenue at 3:30 p.m. The roadway has since reopened, authorities said.
