Clean Sweep, Annual Recycling Resource Fair Planned In Lockport

Help clean up around downtown Lockport, and find resources from local organizations on recycling, composting and more.

LOCKPORT, IL — The City of Lockport and Main Street's Clean Sweep will host the annual recycling resource fair on May 16 in downtown Lockport.

The fair will be held at the parking lot at 201 W. 10th St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The fair will help connect residents with local organizations and vendors offering resources on recycling, composting and waste reduction, according to the City. Simple Recycling will be there collecting clothing and housewares for recycling, and old electronics will also be accepted at the event (limit of two TVs and two monitors per car).

Main Street will also hold its Clean Sweep 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on May 16. You can meet at the Scale House, 201 W. 10th St., and help clean, sweep and plant in downtown Lockport. A free T-shirt and lunch is available for volunteers. You can sign up online.
