100 Citations Issued In Flossmoor PD's April Traffic Safety Push

Police issued 44 citations for distracted driving, the department said. Another 50 were issued for other citations.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Flossmoor Police Department announced that officers issued 44 citations for distracted driving violations and 53 citations for other violations during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.

“Distracted driving remains a serious problem, as one moment of inattention can change lives forever,” says Flossmoor Police Chief Carl Estelle. “High-visibility enforcement is one way we remind drivers that safe driving requires their full attention. Flossmoor will continue enforcing distracted driving laws and we urge motorists to put their phones away whenever they get behind the wheel.”

Flossmoor joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort. The U Drive, U Text, U Pay campaign was funded with federal traffic safety funds, administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. For more information, please contact Flossmoor Police Sgt.
