2 Men Charged With Attempted Murder In Homewood Shooting: PD

HOMEWOOD, IL — Two men face attempted murder and other charges after a man was shot multiple times in Homewood Wednesday, police said Friday. The man was critically injured, police said.

Following an investigation by the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit, Jahlil Robinson, 21, of Lansing, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

Brian Harris, 21, of Calumet City, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/loaded firearm.

Both men were transported to the Markham Courthouse for a detention hearing on Aug. 14.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Homewood police responded to the 1300 block of Jeffery Drive for a report of shots fired.

Police at the scene found a male victim with several apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was treated by the Homewood Fire Department and transported to an area hospital, where he is in critical condition.

During the response to the report of shots fired, police said officers were provided with a description of a suspect vehicle. Officers located a vehicle fleeing the area that matched the description and followed the vehicle until it became inoperable.

The two occupants then fled the vehicle on foot and were subsequently taken into custody, police said.
