Bicyclist Killed In Hit-And-Run In Kane County: Police
A 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
HAMPSHIRE, IL — A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning in Hampshire, according to police.
Officers responded around 12:40 a.m. to U.S. Route 20 between Big Timber and Gast roads, where a caller had reported vehicle debris and a person in the road as well as a passing driver who had stopped to assist before departing, police said.
A 27-year-old woman from Pingree Grove was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, who believe she was struck by an unknown vehicle with an unidentified driver while bicycling.

Anyone who traveled in the area between roughly 12:30 a.m. and 12:50 a.m. is asked to review available dash camera footage and to contact Hampshire police if they saw anything that may assist investigators, authorities said. Anyone who may have seen the cyclist before the crash or who has information related to the involved vehicles is asked to come forward, according to police.
