Ethnic Group's Club Official At Lyons Township High
The club has demonstrated "sustained student involvement," according to the school.

LA GRANGE, IL – Lyons Township High School is formally recognizing the Lithuanian Student Club.
The school's stipend committee recently approved the designation for the group.
"The club has demonstrated sustained student involvement and participation in cultural programming and school community events," a school memo said.

The group's sponsor is set to get a $1,598 stipend.
The Lithuanian community in the Chicago area is considered the largest in the world outside Lithuania, a small European country that borders Russia.

The high school's other ethnic clubs include Arab, Asian, Black, French, German, Greek, Hispanic, indigenous, Irish, Italian, Serbian, Spanish and Ukrainian.
