Man Found Dead Along Shoreline In Lake Forest
Local authorities located the body of a man along the shoreline of Lake Michigan on Monday morning.
LAKE FOREST, IL — Local authorities are investigating the death of a man who was found along the shore of Lake Michigan Monday morning in Lake Forest.
The Lake Forest police and fire departments responded to a report from a resident who said they witnessed a man "sustain a self-inflicted gunshot wound" at 9:52 a.m. Responding officers found the man within the Jean and John Greene Nature Preserve, north of the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve.
Based on preliminary investigation results, authorities don't believe there is any threat to the public or any foul play involved.

The man's identity was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Personnel from the Lake County Forest Preserve Police, Highland Park Police Department, and Highland Park Fire Department also responded to assist at the scene. The investigation remains active, as detectives with the Lake Forest Police Department and investigators from the Lake County Coroner’s Office continue to process evidence.
