Four Young Lemont Artists Earn Special Place at Front of Keepataw Day Parade
Drawing contest winners Victoria, Harlow, Rocco, and Carter will serve as lead banner carriers on Sept. 6.
Four young Lemont artists have been selected as the winners of the 2026 “We ❤️ Lemont” Kids’ Drawing Contest, earning a special place at the front of this year’s Lemont Keepataw Day Parade.
The contest, presented by the Lemont Keepataw Day Committee in partnership with the Lemont Public Library, invited children ages 8 to 14 to create artwork showing what they love most about their community.
After receiving a wonderful collection of entries from young artists throughout Lemont, four winners were selected:

- Carter Adkesson, age 13
- Harlow Evancic, age 8.5
- Victoria Pisarczyk, age 13
- Rocco Ramos, age 8
The four winners will have the honor of serving as lead banner carriers for the 2026 Lemont Keepataw Day Parade, helping lead the parade through the community on Sunday, September 6, during Labor Day Weekend.
The “We ❤️ Lemont” theme encouraged children to think about the people, places, traditions, and experiences that make Lemont feel like home. Entries reflected the creativity and hometown spirit of the young artists who participated.

For the Keepataw Day Committee, the contest was a special opportunity to put children at the heart of one of Lemont’s favorite annual celebrations.
“We were so impressed by the creativity and thought that went into the drawings,” said the Lemont Keepataw Day Committee. “It was wonderful to see Lemont through the eyes of our young residents and see all the things that make them proud to call Lemont home.”
The winning artists will join the parade festivities on Sunday, September 6, as Lemont celebrates the 74th Annual Lemont Keepataw Day Parade and Fun Fest during Labor Day weekend.
The parade begins at 1 p.m., followed by the Keepataw Day Fun Fest from 2 to 11 p.m. The 2026 celebration carries the theme “We ❤️ Lemont,” honoring the people, places, and traditions that make Lemont such a special community.
The Keepataw Day Committee congratulates Victoria, Harlow, Rocco, and Carter and thanks all of the young artists who participated in this year's contest.
Their artwork may have started with a simple piece of paper, but on September 6, these four young Lemont residents will help show the entire community just how much there is to love about Lemont. ❤️
