Lemont Catholic School Sees 20 Percent Enrollment Spike As New Programs Added

LEMONT, IL — SS. Cyril and Methodius School in Lemont has seen a large increase in enrollment as programming improvements continue, Principal Dan Turney shared.

Turney said the pre-K to grade 8 Catholic school has seen a 20 percent enrollment growth over the last year, in part thanks to the school's "great programming."

Some of the school's new programming includes a STEM program, a leadership course and a new learning resource center.

"Our new Learning Resource Center is up and running this school year, and it represents an important investment in meeting students where they are academically," Turney said.

"The center provides greater opportunities for individualized and small-group support, particularly in reading and mathematics. It helps us to identify student needs, provide targeted instruction, and ensure that every student is appropriately challenged and supported," he added.

The school also just finished one of its major fundraisers of the year, a Corvette raffle, which raised $120,000.

All 2,200 tickets were sold for this year's Corvette raffle, and funds go to support the school and its students.

"Those funds allow us to continue investing in innovative learning opportunities for our students, including our new PK–8 STEM program, our Student Leadership course for seventh and eighth graders, and the continued development of our Learning Resource Center," Turney said.

Turney said the programs are about preparing students to be "Future Ready."

"The tremendous support of our families, parishioners, alumni, local businesses, and greater Lemont community makes these opportunities possible," he said.
