"As someone who values both local business and the arts, I wanted to create an event that supports both," Birk told Patch. "That idea became the Lemont Author Pub Crawl, a free community event designed to bring people into our downtown businesses while showcasing talented local authors."

Participating local authors include Arlo Lokomaika'i, Eden Sandoval, Pat Camalliere, Felix Alexander and Michele Birk.

"The goal is simple: support local businesses, celebrate local authors, encourage community engagement, and create a fun experience that brings people together," Birk said. "It is a win-win for everyone involved and a reminder that downtown Lemont continues to be a place where creativity, entrepreneurship, and community thrive."
