Obituary: Jill Gotlund

LEMONT, IL — Jill J. Gotlund (nee Jaglowski), caring wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend died July 23, 2021, at age 69.

She was born to John and Millie Jaglowski in Chicago, on July 4, 1952. She grew up in Lemont with her brother, Jack (Barb) Jaglowski, and sisters Jane (Steve) Jones, Joni (Dave) Quinn, June (Dewey) Johnson, and Jodi (Steve) Johnson. Jill attended Lemont High School where she met the love of her life, Robert Gotlund.

When she married Bob in 1972, she gained loving in-laws Ruth and Rudy Gotlund, Sharon (Butch) Ahlberg, and Dick (Sandy) Gotlund. They were blessed with four children, Nikki (Mike) Miklos, Noelle (Tim) Plotke, Robb (Mailyn) Gotlund, and Rhett (Lily) Gotlund. Jill was known as Grammy to her ten grandchildren, Kaj, Mandy, Max, Laney, Scotty, Finn, Darwyn, Daphne, Gracie and Rose.

Through the years, Jill loved hosting themed parties, enjoyed sewing, crafting, and supporting her kids in all of their endeavors.

Her ability to light up a room, with her animated stories, made everyone feel special and important.

Memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., 108 Illinois Street, Lemont. Funeral services will be held Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 500 Lemont St., Lemont. If you are unable to attend the church service in person, a Zoom link will be made available.
