St. Alphonsus, St. Patrick School Welcomes Students Back To School

LEMONT, IL — St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick School recently started its new school year, also welcoming Superintendent Greg Richmond, who visited students for the first day of class, the school shared in a news release.

"The first days of school have been filled with excitement as students reunited with friends, met their teachers, explored their classrooms, and settled into new routines," the school said in a news release. "The school community also welcomed several new students and staff members, bringing new energy and enthusiasm to the SASP family."

Superintendent Richmond joined the community for the first day, visiting classrooms and meeting with Principal Michelle Bessler and Pastor Fr. Brian Ardagh to hear about the year ahead. He even paid a visit to the fourth-grade bearded dragon class pet, Ziggy.

This year’s theme for the school is “Together, We Rise,” which serves as a reminder that a strong school community is built when students, families, teachers, staff, parishioners, and supporters work together, the school said.

"The school year is also beginning with a strong sense of gratitude. Over the summer, staff members worked diligently to prepare the building and classrooms for students, while families and supporters continued to demonstrate their commitment to SASP," the school shared in a news release. "From campus improvements and classroom preparations to new programs and expanded opportunities, there is a great deal of excitement surrounding the year ahead."
