Community Immigration Forum Planned At Libertyville Church

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The United Methodist Church of Libertyville will host a community-wide immigration forum on Saturday, Aug. 8, aimed at providing residents with information about current immigration policies and their impact on the local community.

The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the church, 429 Brainerd Ave., and is open to the public. High school students and adults are encouraged to attend, according to organizers.

The forum will feature immigrants, volunteers, community organizations and policy experts who will discuss local immigration challenges, available resources and ways residents can support those affected by changing policies.

Organizers said the event is intended to provide accurate information while encouraging community dialogue and action. The program is being presented by the United Methodist Church of Libertyville in partnership with people of faith and the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church's Commission on Religion and Race Immigration Committee.
