Libertyville Man Sentenced To 18 Years For Possession Of Child Sex Abuse Materials

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 27-year-old Libertyville man was sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges involving the dissemination and possession of child sexual abuse material, according to a new release from the Illinois Attorney General's Office.

Kyle Ranallo was sentenced in Montgomery County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to two Class X felony counts of disseminating child sexual abuse material and one Class 2 felony count of possessing child sexual abuse materials, according to the news release.

Raoul’s investigators and Illinois State Police officers searched Ranallo’s Libertyville residence in September 2024, where investigators found evidence of child sexual abuse material. Ranallo was taken into custody following the search and was charged in May 2025.

Raoul’s office prosecuted the case with assistance from the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. The Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, operated by Raoul’s office, investigates online child exploitation and works with more than 200 local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
