Good evening —here’s what you need to know across the far northern suburbs as we wrap up this Thursday.

Six Flags Great America in Gurnee will open its doors this weekend — ringing in opening weekend as the theme park celebrates its 50th anniversary this season. Also new this year, free passes to the park for children ages 3 to 5 years.
