Food Trucks, Live Music, Family Fun: Manhattan Welcomes Season With 'Taste Of Fall'

MANHATTAN, IL — The Village of Manhattan is ready to welcome fall, with a family-friendly event sampling fall eats, seasonal treats and activities.

Set for Saturday Oct. 3 from 3 to 9 p.m., the event takes place in the parking lot behind 195 S. State Street in downtown Manhattan.

Taste of Fall offers an afternoon and evening of food, shopping, family-friendly activities and live entertainment, providing something for all ages to enjoy.

Event Highlights

Guests can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the afternoon and evening, including:

• Food Trucks, 3 to 9 p.m.: Enjoy a variety of food and sweet treats from participating food trucks. Craft beer and other refreshing beverages will also be available.

• Artisan Craft Market presented by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, 3 to 7 p.m.: Browse unique handmade items, seasonal goods and other offerings from local artisans and vendors.
• Kids Pumpkin Painting with the Manhattan Park District, 3 p.m.: Children can get creative and celebrate the season with a fun pumpkin-painting activity.
• Balloon Twisting: 3 to 6 p.m.: Kids can enjoy colorful balloon creations throughout the afternoon.
• Face Painting: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. - Children can add a little extra fun to their day with face painting.
• Bothwell Farms: Onsite throughout the event. Guests can shop for pumpkins, mums, apples, gourds and other seasonal items to help decorate their homes for fall.
• Live Music by Serenity Now!: 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.: Enjoy live music and entertainment into the evening.

"We’re excited to bring Taste of Fall back to Manhattan for another great community celebration," said Mayor Mike Adrieansen. "There is truly something for everyone, from food and shopping to family activities and live music. We encourage residents to bring their families and friends and enjoy a fall evening together in Manhattan."
