October In Manhattan: Fall Fun, Festivals & More

Fall is officially here in Manhattan, and there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what’s happening close to home.

Here are some events and activities happening in and around Manhattan this October.

Manhattan’s Taste of Fall

When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, 3–9 p.m.
Where: Parking lot behind 195 South State Street, Manhattan

Celebrate the season close to home at Manhattan’s Taste of Fall, where food, shopping and live entertainment fill the afternoon and evening. Families can browse an artisan market, stop for pumpkin painting, balloon twisting and face painting, then stick around for live music from Serenity Now! beginning at 5:30 p.m. Food trucks, craft beer, pumpkins, mums, apples and other fall favorites will also be available for purchase, and no admission fee is listed.

Halloween On The Farm

When: Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Where: Trinity Services Farm | 27655 South Gougar Road, Manhattan

Bring the family out for Halloween on the Farm, a seasonal fundraiser featuring horseback riding, a petting zoo, lawn games and plenty of fall fun. The farm animals will be dressed in Halloween costumes too, and visitors are encouraged to wear their own. Admission is $10 per family, no registration is required and proceeds support Trinity Services, Inc.

Country Market

When: Sundays through Oct. 25, 2026, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Where: Downtown Frankfort

Head to nearby Frankfort for the Country Market, where nearly 70 vendors gather each Sunday with a wide range of local goods. Shoppers can browse fresh produce, flowers, plants, honey, meats, seafood, dairy, baked goods, canned items, hot foods and more while enjoying the downtown setting. No admission fee is listed, making it an easy nearby stop for a fall Sunday morning.

Siegel’s Pumpkin Farm

When: Open daily through Nov. 1, 2026, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Where: Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm | 17250 Weber Road, Lockport

Make the trip to nearby Lockport for Siegel’s Pumpkin Farm, where more than 40 attractions and activities turn a farm visit into a full fall day. Families can explore corn mazes, ride trains and trolleys, visit farm animals, play in themed areas and pick pumpkins straight from the field, with plenty of food and treats available throughout the property. General admission pricing varies by day, children 2 and under are free and some attractions cost extra, so check current ticket prices before heading out.

Konow’s Corn Maze

When: Open daily, hours vary
Where: 16849 South Cedar Road, Homer Glen

Take a short drive to nearby Homer Glen for Konow’s Corn Maze, where families can choose between a large 3.4-mile maze and a smaller 0.4-mile option. Admission also includes attractions such as hayrides, jumping pillows, the Cow Train Express, animal barns, corn pits, a straw playground and other rides and activities, with extra weekend entertainment including pony rides, live bands and face painting. Admission is $18 per person Monday through Friday and $20 on weekends, while children 2 and under get in free.
