2 Montgomery Pools Close As Oswego Police Investigate 'Threat Involving A Public Pool'

MONTGOMERY, IL — Two Montgomery pools will be shut down for an unknown amount of time while police investigate "a reported threat involving a public pool," officials said Friday.

The Oswegoland Park District is closing the Civic Center Aquatic Park and Winrock Pool as a precaution, according to a news release from the Oswego Police Department.

"At this time, the threat has not been confirmed, and officers are actively investigating out of an abundance of caution," the department wrote.

Police said they do not have any additional updates Friday afternoon but asked passersby to avoid the area while first responders "safely conduct their investigation."
